Founded on the Gold Coast in 2007, Knotwood began as a specialist powder coating service focused on premium wood grain finishes for aluminium. Recognising a gap in the market for architectural systems that didn’t require welding, offered concealed fixings, and were easy to install, founders Darren Galway and Alan Divall set out to combine striking design with practical innovation — and Knotwood was born.

In 2021, Michael Saba joined Darren as a business partner, bringing a strong commitment to people, principles, and the planet. This new chapter reinforces Knotwood’s family-run ethos while embracing sustainable design practices, ensuring that every project reflects both innovation and integrity.
