How Propertiso Helps You Find Your Next Home

Propertiso is a trusted property platform that showcases listings on behalf of our clients—including estate and letting agents, new home developers, commercial property agents, and overseas landlords. These clients pay to advertise their properties via our website and apps.
Our mission is to help you find your next home safely and securely.

To support this goal, we carry out background checks on all clients before allowing them to advertise. Each agent must also be registered with a government-approved registration scheme. These independent bodies help resolve disputes between agents and consumers. You can verify an agent’s registration through the relevant scheme’s official website for your country.

Propertiso is Not an Estate Agency

We are not an estate agency. Propertiso is a platform where thousands of real estate professionals advertise their properties.
If you find a listing on another site claiming to be from “Propertiso Estate Agents,” it is not legitimate and has no affiliation with us. Always use caution when exploring listings outside our platform and follow the safety tips provided below.

How to Stay Safe Online

While most people genuinely want to help you find a new home, some may attempt to scam you. Protect yourself with these key tips:

  • Don’t pay before viewing a property.
Always try to view the property in person—or send someone you trust—before making any payments.

  • Don’t feel pressured into making fast decisions.
Scammers often create false urgency. Legitimate agents understand that choosing a home takes time.

  • Avoid unusual payment methods.
Never send money via Bitcoin, wire transfer, or other hard-to-trace methods.

  • Use official communication channels.
Contact agents using the “Request Details” button or the phone number on the Propertiso listing. This helps keep your communication secure.

What Propertiso Will Never Ask You

Stay alert if someone contacts you claiming to be from Propertiso and requests:

  • Personal information

  • Passwords

  • Passport or ID details

Propertiso will never ask for your password or personal documents.
If you’re asked to send money to Propertiso or question the authenticity of a message, contact us immediately via email.

Common Scams to Watch Out For

Despite our best efforts, scams still occur. Be aware of:

  • Payment requests before viewings.
Legitimate agents typically only request a holding deposit after a property has been viewed.

  • Fake websites that imitate real ones.
These can include fake chat support, invoices, or even secure padlocks. Always check URLs carefully, and avoid paying with cryptocurrency.

  • Mismatched account details.
When transferring money, ensure the account name matches the agent or company.

Impersonation of Propertiso

Fraudsters may misuse our name on other websites or in messages. For example, a listing may falsely claim to be from Propertiso.

  • Always verify the agent’s identity on our official “Find an Agent” page.

  • We do not have affiliate partners outside of the property sector.

If you see a suspicious listing, let us know immediately.

Phishing Emails

Phishing refers to fake messages intended to steal your personal information or infect your device.

We only send emails from @propertiso.com addresses. Watch for:

  • Links that don’t begin with:
    https://www.propertiso.com/ or https://propertiso.com

If you’re unsure about a link, don’t click—visit our website directly through your browser.

Spotting Fake Listings, Emails, or Texts

Scams often seem too good to be true. Common red flags include:

  • Listings with images that include direct email instructions

  • Multiple listings from the same agent across unrelated locations

  • Listings far from the agent’s real office

  • Urgent payment demands before viewings

Quick actions you can take:

  • Look up the property address on Google Maps to compare with listing photos.

  • Ask agents which Client Money Protection (CMP) scheme they’re part of.

  • Check for suspicious email addresses or domain names.
Avoid clicking links or attachments from unfamiliar senders.

Other Scam Tactics

Scammers may also use fake texts or phone calls. Sometimes, simply clicking an attachment could expose your device to malware.

Always stay cautious and take your time before sharing any personal information or making payments.
